Ranchi. ED on Tuesday launched simultaneous raids at 17 locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal in connection with infiltration of Bangladeshis and illegal earnings and money laundering by running women trafficking racket. ED teams are conducting search operations at several locations including Hotel Skyline, Ashvi Diagnostic in Bariatu, Ranchi. Raids have also been reported in other cities of Jharkhand and West Bengal. In the month of June, the police of Bariatu police station of Ranchi had caught three girls from Bangladesh from a hotel. He neither had a visa nor a passport. They were allegedly brought for prostitution. According to the FIR, the approximately 21-year-old girl, hailing from Bangladesh, was brought to Kolkata with the help of another girl. At midnight on May 31, the girl was made to cross the Bangladesh border illegally from the forest area with the connivance of private agents.
Investigation had revealed that a whole network is active in infiltrating Bangladeshis from West Bengal to Jharkhand without passports or through fake documents and a large scale money game is being played in this matter. On the basis of this police FIR, ED has registered a case of money laundering under PMLA on September 16 and started investigation. Now increasing the investigation in this matter, the agency has started raids. ED has received information that with the help of many agents, Bangladeshi citizens are being infiltrated and fake documents are being provided to them in exchange for money to get them Indian citizenship.
