Mamata clarified the allegations

Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has clarified the allegations of offering money to the family of a junior doctor of RG Kar Hospital after her rape and murder. She said on Monday that she never offered money to the parents of the deceased junior doctor. Mamata said – We only told them that if they want to do something in memory of their daughter, then our government is with them.

During a review meeting at the state secretariat Nabanna, Mamata also said that Kolkata Commissioner Vineet Goyal had offered to resign due to the protests, but we need someone who knows how to handle law and order during Durga Puja. It is worth noting that the parents of the junior doctor had accused the Kolkata Police of offering them money while handing over the body of their daughter and said that we have fulfilled our responsibility.

On the other hand, the protesting doctors had demanded the resignation of the Police Commissioner, accusing the police of tampering with evidence. The parents of the junior doctor allege that the police have been trying to suppress this case since the beginning. We had to wait at the police station until the dead body was taken for post-mortem. Later, when the body of the daughter was handed over to us, a senior police officer offered us money. He said that when the body of the daughter was lying in front of the parents at home and we were shedding tears, the police were giving money, is this the humanity of the police?
