Kedarnath road once again a victim of an accident, 4 people died due to landslide

Kedarnath Dham Landslide: Once again news of an accident has come to light on the Kedarnath route, which has raised questions on the safety of passengers and pilgrims. This time many accidents have happened in Kedar Valley during the rainy season. Such incidents are common on the mountains during the rainy season. An incident of landslide has come to light late Monday night near Sonprayag on the Kedarnath route. Many passengers got buried under the debris due to the landslide. So far 4 people have died in this incident. SDRF recovered three bodies from the debris this morning, while the body of a passenger was recovered from the debris at night itself. Three others are said to be seriously injured. Let us tell you that a landslide has occurred near Gaurikund ahead of Sonprayag. Sonprayag is the first stop of the Kedarnath Yatra for pedestrians.

Landslide due to heavy rain

Due to heavy rains in Kedarghati on Monday afternoon, a massive landslide occurred on the Kedarnath walking route near Gaurikund, about half a kilometer ahead of Sonprayag. During this landslide, many pilgrims, who were passing by on foot, were hit by stones and debris falling from the hill. Four pedestrians were buried under the debris. Information about the incident was given to the Rudraprayag Disaster Control Room, after which the local police and SDRF team immediately reached the spot and started relief work.

The SDRF team reached the spot and pulled out the four passengers buried under the debris. One passenger died on the spot in the accident. While 2 passengers were seriously injured. On receiving the information on Monday night, the SDRF team reached the spot. Where the team conducted a rescue operation and pulled out four people buried under the debris. The rescue operation of the SDRF team is still going on.

Landslides keep happening intermittently

SDM Ukhimath Anil Kumar reached the spot as soon as he got information about the accident. He said that the injured have been admitted to Guptkashi Hospital for first aid. Apart from this, SDRF SI Ashish Dimri said that challenging conditions have been created due to falling of stones at the accident site. Landslides are gradually taking place there. Which can pose a danger to pedestrians.
