Lightning target in South Sudan: Time is spending

Addressing the Protection Council on Wednesday, the UN’s top ambassador to South Sudan said that the country is entering the “extended change period” this month.

To end the war of the year, a three -year end deadline was set for elections and for the formation of a democratic government, through the revival peace agreement signed in 2018. This goal of changing power in the country has been raised four times, where the quality of major political, protection and administration has been incomplete.

Under the latest expansion announced in September 2021, a general election was proposed in December 2026.

Waiting for progress

On Wednesday, UN General Secretary Nicholas Haysam’s Special Representative, providing information to the Protection Council, emphasized that the people of the country did not give up patience, but they expect progress.

“To focus on the criteria prescribed by the leaders of the country from the leaders of the country – the view is strongly expected without delay.”

Special envoy has said that progress has been recorded in many important cases. He urged the leaders of the country to improve the security sector, election preparations and improve the constitution and judicial processes.

Vast

Some achievements have been achieved, but despite them, the huge tremor remains intact – especially in the election of December 2026.

Although a structure has been prepared in accordance with the strategy of operating the security sector and reducing the violence of the national community, the important situation has not been met.

These include integrated protection forces, voter education and political parties and other stakeholders full of code of conduct.

Nickels Hyeism said that progress was being hampered due to lack of government funds and delay in decision making.

Protection anxiety and humanity crisis

Communal violence remains a major cause of insecurity, which is impossibly affecting the population of weak conditions, including women and children.

Also, the impact of war between the rival forces of the neighboring country of Sudan is also occurring in South Sudan.

In recent times, more than a million Sudanese refugees have reached South Sudan. These people have already joined 93 million people with amazing level human support.

The country’s economic crisis is also deteriorating, inflation has increased by 107 percent and food prices have doubled, while on the other hand, government employees did not get paid for 10 months.

Last year, the condition of the health region was also deteriorating due to floods, more than 20,000 cases were reported. The disease is spreading continuously, especially in remote areas, where the reach of healthcare is limited.

The goal of human needs and 2025 supporting action is to provide life -efficient assistance to 54 million people, but the lack of religion remains a serious challenge.

The United Nations is applying for $ 1.7 billion assistance to meet immediate demand this year.

Unmus

Nicholas Haysam also led UNMIS UNMISS to the UN in the country.

This mission has been requested to empty a portion of its headquarters within 45 days from the government.

Nicholas Hiesam Sarkar, the Protection Council, kept information about the logistic challenges published after this request.

In some cases, the United Nations is also limited to the sanctions of peacekeepers, mission protection and humanitarian assistance.

Nicholas Heism, finally, reiterated the UN promise to stand with the people of South Sudan in the path of stability and democracy.
