'Growing distance between countries, the biggest threat to the UN peace', Lacrowa

Participants attended the conference, discussing the challenges of peace and the UN and member countries, the current geopolitical scene revealed new reality.

This interview has been edited for clarity and bravity.

UN News: What is the biggest danger for peace in the next 20 years and what can we prepare in advance to deal with it?

Alcohol The biggest challenge is division between member states, because peace depends on their strong and attached political support.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee of that unity ki today. When existing peacekeeping missions face challenges and disadvantages, member states, especially the host governments, do not need to give them strong and United Kick support.

Another important thing is that peacekeeping operations have been deployed to support political efforts. However, this political effort is successful, for this, the international community must be United, committed and strong.

The nature of conflict and war is changing. It is now more active non-local material, including private security companies. The causes of war are spreading internationally, be it the effect of terrorism, organized crime or climate change.

Although we cannot confirm unity among our member states, we need to enhance our skills to deal with the changing nature of our conflict and take effective responsive steps.

UN News: How can it be confirmed that one step beyond the threat of peace, AI, cyber attacks and new strategies such as drones?

Alcohol This is a very important purpose, and that is why we have prepared a strategy for digital changes in peace, whose purpose is to improve our peacekeepers, improve awareness of stability. Also, it is important to compete with wrong and false information, which is currently being used as weapons in many peaceful areas.

But to achieve this goal, we need to improve digital literacy among our staff. This requires large -scale efforts towards improve the training and preparation level. The United Nations cannot do this alone. We need the help of our partners for this.

UN News: From the advance front to the role of leadership, what do women need to do to create a UN peacekeeping face?

Alcohol If we talk about the number of women in peace, the situation in the region has become somewhat better and the proportion of women is constantly increasing.

But we want to act as senior posts for more female officers, such as the Force Commander and the Deputy Force Commander. In most armed forces, the number of women in these posts is low. However, India is making a lot of efforts to achieve this goal and more female officials are deploying.

We also need to focus on the issue that the atmosphere of peace should be favorable for both men and women. It also includes practical aspects of facilities. At the same time, efforts are being made to improve the quality of the camps, so that they can become better for both men and women.

It also has a psychological aspect, under which it is necessary to ensure that all peacekeepers, men or women, are welcomed, especially for female peacekeepers, for all. We’re working on it, but I think it is also a general responsibility of the military and police force suppliers.

UN News: In peace, what else can be done to promote women?

Alcohol The strength of women is an important principle of the United Nations. The working environment with the presence of more women in peace is better and they become examples for other women. I believe that because of the presence of more women in peace, the level of behavior and discipline is also improved.

Where the community needs confidence, especially more women need peace. This is a requirement on which continuous emphasis has been given.

However, his role is not limited to communication with the community. For example, we have female officers who are working as a helicopter pilot. Basically, whatever is related to peacekeeping, women are open to both men.

UN News: In your view, how can southern countries worldwide play a more active role in peace?

Alcohol Most of the peacekeepers deployed in UN peacekeeping come from the Global Southern countries. These include India, one of the largest contributors. His role is very important not only in the context of numbers, but also in other cases.

The efforts that India is currently being made to improve peace is helping to improve the protection or promote the use of digital technology. These include increasing the number of women in peace, improving the effectiveness of the effectiveness, and contributing to other areas related.

I think Global South has a lot of experiences and we want to take full advantage of it in dealing with the current challenges. For this, it is necessary to ensure that the future peacekeeping campaign remains relevant.
