The UN’s annual report, published by the United Nations on Tuesday, states that against the plant, these substances can be made anywhere without the need for large -scale cultivation.
It makes smugglers manufacturing and distributing easy and cheap.
The crisis has worsened with the existence of powerful drugs like Phantanil and Nightzen, causing the record high death. Its small doubt is strong enough to cause excess amounts.
INCB President Jalal Toufiq said, “The rapid expansion of the illegal synthetic drug industry is a threat of a major global public health, including potential destructive consequences for mankind.”
He also said, “We need to work together to take steps against this fatal problem, which is being hampered by the death of hundreds of people.”
Smugglers are ahead of the rules
Criminal groups constantly mold themselves to avoid law enforcement.
They, with the opportunity of legal defects, develop new synthetic formulas and use artificial intelligence (AI) to find alternative chemicals for drug production.
New ways of trafficking, these drugs, including drones, make it difficult to identify and post on product addresses.
As a result, occupying synthetic drugs, now the traditional-based plant-based drugs like heroin and cocaine are proved much more difficult than the plant-based drugs.
Out of reach
On the one hand, synthetic drugs are full of illegal markets, while in low and moderate income countries, millions of people still do not have the necessary painkillers.
The report highlighted that in territories such as morphine in Africa, South Asia and Central America, pain relieving drugs is not found and this condition is not due to the reduction of the store, but due to the obstruction of distribution and control.
The INCB -based analyzesic drug producing countries has called for enhancing their production and strength to improve pain resistance services.
Regional bases concern
This report has identified many of these regions where synthetic drug trafficking is increasing.
After the ban on Afghanistan’s opium in 2022, more customers can move towards synthetic drug options due to heroin deficiency.
In North America, despite the efforts to prevent crisis, deaths related to the use of synthetic drugs remain at high level.
The production, smuggling and usage of Ampimine-type drugs in the Middle East and Africa is increasing, where they should be avoided, treatment and rehabilitation services are often insufficient.
Meanwhile, methofetamine and ketamine trafficking are increasing in the Asia-Pacific, especially in the gold triangle region.
Call for instant action
The INCB has called for the government to strengthen international cooperation, improve the way to share data and expand drug resistance and treatment services.
The Commission says that its trade will continue to increase its trade to prevent the expansion of synthetic drugs, which will risk the lives of more people.
