DRC: 3,000 citizens have left the country in violence, sexual violence

Deputy Director of the International Protection Department of the UN Agency, Patrick Abiba, says that sexual violence and human rights violations are constantly being published on the close front of the fight. Locals are being looted in houses and businesses and they are destroying.

The rebel party is fighting with the government security forces in the eastern part of the Congo Democratic Republic in the northern Kivu and southern Kivu provinces, and M33 fighters have taken many regions under their control.

UNHCR officials told reporters in Geneva that there was instability in both provinces, more than 3,000 people have become homeless to save their lives due to armed conflict, and more than 60,000 people have entered Burundi since January.

According to the UN Refugee Agency, 895 cases of rape were registered in the last two weeks of February, which showed an average of 605 cases a day.

In addition to sexual violence, local citizens are facing the risk of entry into the grip of explosive elements, especially children and farmers involved in taking care of their fields.

The UN Humanities Office (OCHA) said on Monday that armed fighters attacked at least two hospitals in the capital of North Kivur and abducted a large number of patients.

Humanitarian support for homeless, displaced people has also been harmed by the fight. According to the World Food Program (WFP), violent conflict has been forced to stop assistance in the damaged region.

However, in some parts of the answer kiwu, emergency food assistance has been resumed, under which food items will be distributed to about two lakh people.

Phenomenon

There is a huge movement of population in North Kivu and South Kivu provinces. The reason for this is that the orders given by the M23 rebel party ordered the camps to be left in the underlying displaced people near Goma.

Due to insecurity in the East DRC, many others are likely to cross the boundaries of security and shelter.

The UN agency has said that DRC citizens, who are fleeing from violent conflict, and from outside the country, have come from the disadvantaged region of violence, refugee protection may be needed according to international and regional legal structures.

The company emphasized that the decision to voluntarily return to the violent affected area should be decided on the basis of adequate information.

Accellence to exempt from the ban on money

When asked about the sanctions in the United States on humanitarian assistance, Uzin Bunn, a UN refugee agency spokesman, said that some emergency countries were released from the ban for 90 days from the ban. One of them is also the Congo Democratic Republic.

The full DRC in mineral resources has been in crisis for the past few decades, where the availability of funds for humanitarian assistance campaign was challenging.

The UNHCR spokesman hoped that his company would continue the support of the needy in the country’s emergency.

In many African countries, there are more than 1 million DRC refugees, most of which are neighboring countries. Of these, more than five lakhs are in Uganda, when thousands of people have taken refuge in Burundi after the attack on M33 fighters in January.

Before the current crisis, 67 67 million people were displaced from their home in the DRC border.
