Financial assistance for humanitarian purposes is being deducted at a time when food assistance requirements are being recorded due to violent conflicts, displacement and obstacles on the humanitarian assist route.

There are children under the age of five, pregnant and breastfeeding women and other people with disabilities.

Unable to meet food requirements

On behalf of Myanmar, WFP representative and country director Michael Dunford has said that reduction of assistance will have a devastating impact on the most vulnerable community in the country. Many of these families only depend on the assistance of the UN food agency.

Humanitarian assistance
