In fact, the leaders of any state do not have any special meaning in BJP. Especially at the time of elections, the state leaders are sidelined. All decisions are made on the basis of the reports of survey agencies. Apart from surveys, there is the role of state in-charge and state election in-charge and in the end everything has to be decided by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Almost the same picture is seen in every state. But in Haryana, the state leaders have become more meaningless. It is believed that former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is getting most of the decisions made. Khattar’s role and to some extent RSS’s role is also coming to the fore in ticket distribution. The remaining work is being done by state election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan and organization in-charge Biplab Deb.
That is why it seems that neither the Chief Minister nor the State President had any role in ticket distribution. Old and big leaders like Anil Vij and Ram Bilas Sharma have already been sidelined. But it was believed that the Chief Minister is new and the election is being fought on his face and the State President is also new, through whom an attempt is being made to garner Brahmin votes, so he will have a role in contesting the election. But the reality is that the ticket of State President Mohanlal Badauli was cut and he did not even know. This time the party did not give him a ticket. He is an MLA from Rai seat of Sonipat but the party has given a ticket to Krishna Gehlawat in his place. Earlier, the seat of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was changed. He is an MLA from Karnal but he was sent to contest from Ladwa seat. The Chief Minister also did not know that his seat was being changed because before the announcement of tickets, he kept saying that he would contest from Karnal only. Think, those leaders who do not know about their own tickets, what tickets would they have got for others and what elections will they make them contest!
