Several million Afghan people are returning for force, UNHCR

According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), more than two and a half million Afghan citizens have returned to April (2021), of which 3,000 people were forced to deport.

The company has expressed deep concern over the position of women and girls, especially women and girls, which face increasingly oppressing under the Taliban regime.

This comeback is in a larger size, already limited human resources and the situation of millions of people who have already fought for life.

UNHCR spokesman Babur Baloch said, “He is facing increasing sanctions on employment, education and freedom of movement.”

He also said, “We are constantly telling the governments of Iran and Pakistan that the return of the Afghan people should be volunteer, safe and prestigious.”

In addition to women and girls, human rights activists, journalists and religious or ethnic minority communities are forcibly facing the biggest threat when returning to Afghanistan.

Growing requirements

These threats are making Afghanistan’s growing human needs more serious, where half the population needs to rely on relief assistance to survive.

More than 35 million people have returned home since 2023.

Spokesperson Baloch said that the return of such a large number of people in Europe, the return of the country increases the risk of further displacement and effort.

UNHCR is now trying to increase $ 75 billion assistance to help these persons to come back and bring stability to the region.

In 2021, Afghan citizens were the largest group of irregular immigrants from Asia-Pacific to Europe, which are more than four of the total immigrants.

With this additional amount, UNHCR’s plan is to provide access to services, to provide the necessary assistance to those who return to Afghanistan with a livelihood, rehabilitation service, travel and financial support.

The special attention of these efforts will also be about reaching the female and girls.

The plan of the agency is to solve the immediate protection needs and increase the ability to provide shelter.
