UN Conference: 'Greed, pushing the ocean to destruction'

The Third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) is organizing the NIS from June 9-13, the second day, the UN chief issued this serious warning.

Hundreds of leaders, government representatives, scientific and civil society representatives have been gathered to attend the conference. Their goal is to deal with the growing emergency for the oceans around the world.

“We can’t let greed decide on the future of our planet.”

The United Nations called for all stakeholders to play an important role in understanding their obligations and opposing the hungry forces for profit.

“So, we’re here this week: to stand together with solidarity against these powers, and we are all to be taken under our authority.”

General Secretary Gutresh has set four important priorities for the government, business leaders, fishermen, scientists of the countries. He said that everyone had an obligation and an important role.

Changes to convert to the use of the ocean: It is not only limited to fishing, but it is related to ways to do. By 2030 we need to meet the global goals of 30 percent of the ocean conservation.

Plastic contamination: Once used plastic used in phases, improve cycling and end a global contract this year to end plastic pollution.

Fight against the climate change of the sea: Prior to the UN Annual Climate Conference (COP 30) in Brazil, countries should present ambitious climate projects, which is suitable for a 1.5 degree target of the Paris Climate Agreement.

High Sea Agreement: Ceiling and implementing the contract to preserve marine biodiversity in international water, beyond national borders. All countries have to be part of this agreement and have to implement it.

The UN chief government, businessmen, scientists, fishermen and other stakeholders have issued an appeal, requested to invest in decision -making resolution and concrete investment.
