By the end of April 2025, 12.21 million people were forced to displace the displacement worldwide. Last year, this figure was Tk 12 crore at the same time. The United Nations Agency’s annual ‘Global Trends’ report shows that the number of people forced to leave their homes every year has been increasing every year.
Sudan, Myanmar, other countries in Ukraine are a major cause of flammable violent conflict, where it is not possible to stop the fight.

Due to the violent struggle, the number of forced displaced people has increased within the borders of our country.
At the end of 2024 it reached 7.35 billion, which shows an increase in 635 lakhs. At the same time, the figure of people who have taken refuge in other countries is Tk 4.227 crore.
Sudan is the world’s largest displacement crisis, where there are 1.43 million refugees and internal displaced people. Syrian 1.5 billion people have been displaced, then Afghanistan (1.5 million) and then Ukraine (1 lakh).
According to the report, against the general concept of seeking refuge in rich countries, 67 percent of the refugees find shelter in neighboring countries.
In low and middle-aged countries, the total number of refugees survives is 73 percent, while 60 percent of the displaced displacement never leave their country to leave their homes.
Back to the country in a challenging situation
However, in the pain and displacement, a large number of their country have returned to Syria, which has raised hope. According to the UN agency, after about 10 years of displaced, 2 million Syrian citizens have returned to their home.
However, the country is still facing a subtle situation and needs assistance to bring their lives back to track.
In 2021, a total of Tk 1 lakh was displaced in different countries, including 1 16 lakh refugees and 12 lakh lakhs.
However, in many cases this return has been done in a very hostile political and security situation. A large number of Afghan citizens were forced to return to their country in Afghanistan and there was disappointment for them.
Exemption crisis
In the last decade, the number of people who suffer from forced displacement has almost doubled. However, financial support from the UN refugee agency is at 20 phase, and funding has also been announced for humanitarian assistance.
The UN agency has warned that in the deepest displacement crisis, it is not possible to move forward to overcome support, and it makes the situation serious for the refugees and displays.
In view of this, the UNHCR has called for the help of refugees and their returning people to ensure financial assistance for his programs to save lives.
Also, social services and infrastructure of the organizer community need to be strengthened and investing in regional and global protection.
