Geneva. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that at least 22,500 people have been seriously injured in the Gaza conflict till July 23. These injuries have caused them lifelong pain. They have been forced to suffer the pain of disability. Xinhua news agency reported that the report published on Thursday has put a heavy burden on Gaza’s already weak healthcare system. They said that 13,455 to 17,550 people have been badly injured. Due to this, limbs of about 4,000 people have been amputated, while spinal problems have increased, people are suffering from head injuries and a large number of people have also been severely burnt by fire.
Many women and children are also among the victims. According to WHO representative Richard Pepperkorn, the situation is worrying. He has said that Gaza’s health infrastructure is unable to meet the increasing demands. He said that many people in Gaza have suffered very serious injuries, which will take a long time to recover. But the health system here is itself on a ventilator. The Geneva-based health agency said that due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, it is important that the people there get the benefit of necessary health services. So that further diseases and deaths can be prevented.
