One more case of monkeypox confirmed

Thiruvananthapuram. One more case of monkeypox has been confirmed in the country. This case has also been reported in Kerala’s Mallapuram district. A person who returned to Kerala from Dubai has been found infected with this virus. The Kerala government has confirmed this. This 38-year-old man is undergoing treatment in Mallapuram district. Kerala’s health department said that monkeypox infection has been confirmed in this person.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George has also confirmed this by writing a post on Facebook. She said that the person who recently came from UAE was already admitted to a hospital here due to symptoms of ampox. The minister requested all people, including those coming from abroad, to report any symptoms and seek treatment as soon as possible. The Health Minister wrote – On seeing the symptoms, the person has isolated himself from his family as a precautionary measure. At present, he is admitted to Manjeri Medical College here. The person’s samples were sent for testing and the report came positive on Wednesday.
