Will restore full statehood: Kharge

Jammu. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge visited the state for the second time in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. He held a press conference in Jammu on Saturday and said that getting Jammu and Kashmir back the status of a state is the priority of the Congress. He said that the state was never made a union territory before. Attacking the BJP, Kharge said – We want to ask PM Modi and BJP that when you have full power, why have you not given full statehood status to Jammu and Kashmir till now.

Referring to the Congress manifesto for Jammu and Kashmir, Kharge said, “We have made seven promises for the state. Our first promise is that the full statehood status of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored.” Targeting Amit Shah, he said, “Home Minister Amit Shah makes big statements during the campaign, later he says that these were election slogans. BJP is saying that it will provide five lakh jobs. There is 35 percent unemployment here and 65 percent government posts are vacant here.”

Kharge said- BJP had a lot of time, their LG also had power, but they did not fill the vacant posts. If we come to power, we will immediately fill one lakh vacant jobs. Narendra Modi and Amit Shah always make slogans and ask for votes on them. We started the MNREGA scheme, waived off the loans of the farmers of the country, brought the Food Security Act for the public, created opportunities for better education, worked for the upliftment of the poor.
