New Delhi. Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh will be the new chief of the Indian Air Force i.e. Air Chief Marshal. He will take charge on 30 September. Amar Preet Singh will replace Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhary, who is retiring on 30 September. Amar Preet Singh was till now the Vice Chief of the Air Force. Amar Preet Singh has experience of flying for more than five thousand hours on rotary wing aircraft.
Before becoming the Vice Chief of the Air Force, Amar Preet Singh had also commanded the operational fighter squadron and frontline air base. Air Marshal Amarpreet Singh was born on 27 October 1964. He was posted in the Air Force on 21 December 1984. He has been serving the Air Force for 40 years. Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh has received training from the National Defense Academy Khadakvasla and Air Force Academy Dundigal. He recently flew Tejas at the age of 59.
