In a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Quad Summit, President Joe Biden supported India’s permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council. Before the Quad Summit began, Prime Minister Modi met President Biden at his residence in Delaware on Saturday night. Biden welcomed Modi with a hug. After this, a bilateral meeting took place between the two for about an hour.

Biden praised Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Ukraine and Poland. Apart from this, Biden also supported India’s permanent membership in the United Nations. The drone deal was also discussed between the two leaders. Biden welcomed this deal with India. India is in the process of purchasing 31 MQ-9B Sky Guardian and Sea Guardian drones from the US. The cost of these drones is around three billion dollars.

Two important agreements have been signed between India and America during the meeting with the US President. America’s Space Force will set up a semiconductor plant in India. The semiconductor chips made in it will be used by the armed forces of India and America. Apart from this, America has announced to give 31 MQ-9B drones to India. These will be used to increase surveillance on the border.
