Patna. The people of Bihar are going to get the gift of Bapu Tower on October 2. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the Bapu Tower under construction in Gardnibagh on Tuesday. Important information about the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi will be told in the Bapu Tower through pictures and scenes on a big screen. The Chief Minister visited the ground floor, third floor and fifth floor of the Bapu Tower and took stock of the progress of the construction work. During the inspection, the Chief Minister also took stock of the turn table theater show (rotating curtain) in the orientation hall built on the ground floor itself. During the inspection, Secretary of the Building Construction Department Kumar Ravi said that whoever comes to see the Bapu Tower will be able to sit in the orientation station hall and see the biography of Bapu, his ideals and works and the glory of Bihar. During the inspection, the Chief Minister took information about the auditorium, waiting room, lounge, gallery for the display of works to establish Bapu’s ideals among the common people, research center, visitor facilities and other structures. It was told that Bapu Tower will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on October 2. During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that after the inauguration of Bapu Tower, the new generation will be able to know Bapu’s biography, his thoughts and his ideals.
Here, historical events related to Bapu’s life, Gandhi’s thoughts, his role in the freedom struggle, his attachment to Bihar and Bapu’s ideals will be displayed in a better way, so that the general public can come here and see and understand it. This campus has been made green and organized. Bapu Tower has been built very well, it will be visible to the people. The Chief Minister directed the officials to widen the roads around Bapu Tower, so that the people coming here do not face any inconvenience. Also, trees should be planted on the roadside. On the occasion of Bapu’s 150th birth anniversary, the foundation stone of this building was laid on seven acres of land on 2 October 2018 by the Building Construction Department. Bapu Tower has two main parts, rectangular and conical. The G+6 rectangular building has three exhibition galleries, auditorium, temporary exhibition gallery, office room, waiting room, museum shop and refreshment room. The 102 feet high conical building has 5 ramps built in a continuous sequence, on which all the information related to Gandhiji’s life has been displayed through murals, cutouts, screen projectors etc. The Chief Minister also saw the external decoration and lighting work of Technology Bhawan, Visvesvaraya Bhawan, Vikas Bhawan and praised it.
