Bengaluru. Lokayukta will investigate against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is accused of the alleged scam in the land of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The special court of Bengaluru on Wednesday ordered the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate this matter. The Lokayukta will have to submit the report of the investigation to the Mysore District Police in three months. A day before this, on Tuesday, the Karnataka High Court had declared the order of investigation given by the Governor in the land scam case against Siddaramaiah as correct.
High Court judge Justice M. Nagaprasanna had said on Tuesday – It is necessary to investigate the things mentioned in the petition. The Chief Minister’s family is involved in the case, so the petition is dismissed. Earlier, on August 16, Governor Thawarchand Gehlot had given permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah under several sections of the Anti-Corruption Act and the Indian Civil Defense Code. The Chief Minister challenged the Governor’s order in the High Court on August 19.
A complaint has been filed against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law and some officials in the alleged scam related to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. Social activists TJ Abraham, Pradeep and Snehamayi Krishna have alleged that the Chief Minister in collusion with MUDA officials fraudulently acquired expensive sites.
