Although BJP had lost 63 seats in the Lok Sabha elections held this year, the loss of one seat was the most painful for the BJP. That seat was of Faizabad. Ayodhya comes under Faizabad Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the grand Ram temple on January 22 this year. On its strength, the party was hoping to win elections in the entire country but it lost Ayodhya. This matter also became a big issue in the Parliament and SP’s Awadhesh Prasad, who defeated BJP’s Lallu Singh, was presented as a trophy by Congress and other opposition parties. Similarly, in the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir, Mata Vaishno Devi seat is being contested for BJP.
Actually, under delimitation, Mata Vaishno Devi seat was formed by separating it from Reasi seat. BJP has fielded Baldev Raj Sharma on this seat. But the Baridar community, which traditionally looks after the temple of Mata Vaishno Devi, is opposing the BJP. He has fielded Sham Singh as an independent candidate. This community has 15 thousand votes. Baridars want that the work of taking care of the Shrine Board and the temple should be handed over to them. If their vote goes against BJP and for their own candidate then that candidate can win the election. On this seat, Congress has fielded Bhupendra Singh and PDP has fielded Pratap Krishna Sharma.
