Doctors protest resumes in Kolkata

Kolkata. Protesting the attitude of the government and the police in the case of rape and murder of a junior doctor in RG Kar Hospital, junior doctors have once again gone on strike and started protesting. Junior doctors marched again. This protest march was taken out from College Square to Dharmatala in Kolkata. Junior doctors have stopped work to put pressure on the state government. Doctors demand that they be given complete security.

Earlier, junior doctors continued protesting for 42 days from August 10 against the incident that took place on August 9. After an agreement with the government, he returned to duty in government hospitals on September 21 under certain conditions. In this case, during the hearing on September 30, the Supreme Court had pulled up the Mamata government for negligence in the security of hospitals. Also ordered that CCTV be installed in all hospitals within 15 days. From the next day the doctors again went on strike.

Doctors said that the attitude of Mamata government towards meeting their safety demands does not seem positive. He says that even after 52 days of the incident, nothing has changed and doctors are also being attacked. Doctors said- There does not seem to be any effort to fulfill the promises of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. We have no option left but to stop work completely from today. Until we see action from the state government, work will remain closed. It is noteworthy that after the death of a patient on September 27, a case of beating of three doctors and three nurses came to light in Kolkata’s Sagor Dutta Hospital. Junior doctors are angry with this incident.
