India rejected American report

New Delhi. Like every year, this year too an American federal agency has put India in the dock on the issue of religious freedom. ‘United States Commission on International Religious Freedom’ or USCIRF, a federal commission of the US government, has published a report on October 3 expressing concern over the alleged deteriorating situation of religious freedom in India. The Indian government has rejected this report outright and has also asked America to look into its own affairs.

The Indian government has said that this US Federal Commission is an organization with a biased and political agenda. Foreign Ministry Secretary Randhir Jaiswal said- Our opinion regarding the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom is very clear. It is a partisan organization with a political agenda. Randhir Jaiswal said- USCIRF has been misrepresenting the facts from the very beginning. This has continued to increase the motivated narrative about India. We reject this malicious report.

Earlier, the US government commission released a report on the alleged decline of religious freedom in India, in which senior policy analyst Sema Hasan has written that there are violent attacks on religious minorities and their places of worship in India. Wrong information is given to spread religious unrest. Apart from this, the most shocking thing is that the report talks about Muslims, Waqf Amendment Bill, anti-cow slaughter law. Due to all this, the Commission has requested to keep the country in the list of countries with religious discrimination. This commission releases its report every year and in this year’s report it has requested to keep India in the category of countries of special concern. It has made such recommendations many times before and the US administration does not accept it considering its relations with India.
