There is mention of his ten and eight hands in Hemadri text. The four-armed statue of Mata is also seen, But the ten-armed and eight-armed form of the Goddess is most popular in the public mind. The ten arms of the Goddess mainly represent the feeling of being the central power of the ten directions and protecting humans from ten personalities. Similarly, Ashtabhuja represents the state of total well-being of the world in eight directions.

There is a tradition of installing, worshiping and worshiping the idol of Goddess Durga with eight arms during Navratri. The number of hands in the idol of Bhagwati Durga is mentioned differently in different Puranas. It is mentioned in Varaha Purana 95/41 that Mata Varahi holds weapons and religious-cultural symbols in her twenty hands – conch, chakra, mace, padma, shakti, maholka, plough, pestle, khadga, paridhi, bhrisundhi, mastak, khemat, Tomar holds Parshu, Pash, Kunt, Trishul, Sarang, Dhanushadi etc. There is mention of her eighteen hands in Devi Bhagwat Purana. There is mention of his ten and eight hands in Hemadri text. The four-armed idol of the Mother Goddess is also seen, but the ten-armed and eight-armed form of the Goddess is most popular among the people. The ten arms of the Goddess mainly represent the feeling of being the central power of the ten directions and protecting human beings from ten personalities. Similarly, Ashtabhuja represents the overall well-being of the world in eight directions.

For this reason, there is a tradition of remembering and worshiping the name of the Goddess in the form of ten Vidyas, Navadurga or Ashta Matrika. Their names are also Shatakshi and Shakambhari. The reality of the eight-armed Durga, which represents the world’s well-being in eight directions, has also been described and analyzed in the Vedic religion. According to Vedic scholars, the first arm (Bhuj) is of the east, from where the rising Aditi Sun should be performed in the morning by facing east. You should brighten your life. Because light is the life of human being. The darkness within you must be eliminated. Darkness is a symbol of ignorance. Light is a symbol of knowledge. This is one arm of the goddess. The other side is south.

The waves of science in the south direction are steeped in spirituality. The South itself has a wealth of words. Som is in the south. The south direction is the storehouse of fire and electricity. Therefore this is another direction, another arm and another power given by God. The third direction is west, which is called the third arm of the divine divine power Mother. This Bhuj is known as a granary. When the wind moves rapidly from the west direction and brings electricity along with it, it transforms various types of aura in the womb of Mother Earth into rain. Various types of food and mineral substances start being produced from this. Therefore this is the third arm of the mother.

The fourth arm is Uttarayan. Yogis and devotees all practice yoga by facing the north direction. Attain the speed of life. All auspicious works are done facing north. The storehouse of all knowledge resides in Uttarayan. Therefore this is the fourth arm given by the Mother in the form of God. The fifth side is called Dhruva, which is the downward side or direction that is associated with nature. Many resources and powers are obtained from nature and earth. The seeker or scientist also moves in this. The sixth arm remains in the upward direction i.e. the upward direction which provides movement from the space world to the heavenly world. It showers various types of happiness, joy and divinity. To achieve this, a living being should perform Yagya (sacrifice) to the Divine (Goddess). And one should become a Brahmavetta i.e. a seeker who contemplates Brahma. One should travel in many worlds and regions while flying like a Yogi. There should be progress in the age of science. Existing on scientific instruments, the yoga practitioner starts traveling across worlds.

It is noteworthy that at the time of Yagya, the direction of installation of the Kalash is North-East. A person practicing yoga places Mula Bandha in Muladhara and sees the light of light in the navel centre. After that, after applying Jalandhar Bandha, one sees the light in the heart chakra. Thereafter, in the throat and in the Svadhisthana Chakra, where the place of Triveni i.e. Ida, Pingala, Sushumna meets, it is called a triangle, at this triangular place the soul enters the Brahma Randhra by gazing at all the three Gunas – Rajoguna, Tamoguna and Satoguna. Is. And when Yogeshwar goes into Brahma Randhra, he sees the entire universe. The yogi meditates on the light present in the north-east corner.

The pot made of soil is filled with water by the Kumbhakar. It contains nectar. He is showering nectar of life. It is raining knowledge. That means he is the giver of Saraswati. Saraswati comes by drinking knowledge. Those who drink nectar carry Saraswati in themselves. This Ishaan is the seventh arm of Mother Kali i.e. the earth. The eighth arm is called Dakshinayan Kriti, it nourishes humans by absorbing electricity and taking food grains from the west direction. Therefore she is also a form of a goddess, a form of Shakti. That is why yogis and scholars pray to the Mother Goddess, who grants welfare, to remove the bad qualities, to pacify the bad qualities, to do good and to shower her nectar.

This Ashtabhuja Durga also has its own national importance. Durga is the embodiment of all power i.e. the power of the nation, which is the combined form of individual and people, the nation, physical form, strength, power of wealth and power of knowledge are like a lion, power (Durga) is manifested in that person and on that nation. The nation needs animal power (Kartikeya), wealth power (Lakshmi) and knowledge power (Saraswati), but for the unintelligent, power, wealth and knowledge are not only useless, but prove to be powerful weapons for self-destruction.

That is why the progenitor of humanity, the great intellect (Ganapati), is present, under the weight of whose huge intellect (body) all the obstacles (rats) remain helpless. The national power spread in all directions is the two, four, eight, ten, thousand and infinite and innumerable arms of the nation and all types of weapons available are the weapons of the Dikpalas. There is no individual or nation which does not have opposition. This is Mahish. This is the worship of Bharat Shakti in the form of Durga.

According to mythological belief, Kushmanda Devi, who is worshiped on the fourth day of Navratri festival, has eight arms, hence this mother is called Ashtabhuja. His seven hands hold Kamandal, bow, arrow, lotus flower, nectar-filled pot, chakra and mace respectively. In the eighth hand there is a chanting rosary which gives all the achievements and wealth. The vehicle of this goddess is a lion and she likes the sacrifice of potter. Because Kumhada is called Kushmanda in Sanskrit, this goddess is known as Kushmanda. This goddess has been named Kushmanda because she creates the egg i.e. the universe through her slow, light laughter. When there was no creation, there was darkness all around, then this goddess had created the universe with her divine humor. That is why it has been called the original form or Adishakti of the universe.

This goddess resides in the world within the solar system. Only they have the power to live in the sun world. That is why the radiance and glow of their body is as bright as the sun. All ten directions are illuminated by their light. His glory is present in all the objects and creatures of the universe. Kushmanda means the one who holds the egg. Man and woman have the power to conceive and conceive respectively. The attraction and feeling of love that arises in the human vagina between a man and a woman at the time of Ikshan as a result of soft laughter (the self-expression of Goddess Kushmanda) is the power of Bhagwati. Their effects can be seen in all living beings. Kushmanda is also included among the nine special medicines of Navadurga mentioned in Brahma’s Durga Kavach. This medicine, popularly known as Petha and Kumhra, is helpful in removing blood disorders and cleaning the stomach. It is like nectar in mental diseases.
