New Delhi. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had a special conversation with IANS on Sunday. During this, he asked a question to the Congress party as to why they did not honor Baba Saheb with Bharat Ratna during their government. He said that Baba Saheb has to understand a fundamental thing behind not getting Bharat Ratna. When Baba Saheb Ambedkar was brought into the cabinet, there was no one other than him who was the most educated and greatest scholar in the field of law in India. Pandit Nehru could not compete with Baba Saheb. Baba Saheb’s stature is very high. But, the Congress Party and Jawaharlal Nehru made every possible effort to tarnish his name. Congress took every possible step to prevent Baba Saheb from entering Parliament and even when he resigned from the post of Law Minister, the process of insulting him continued. Finally in 1956 he left Hinduism and adopted Buddhism.
Kiren Rijiju said that the situation in independent India was such that Pandit Nehru feared that if Baba Saheb got a chance, his stature in the country would become even higher. That is why the Congress Party never honored Baba Saheb Ambedkar with Bharat Ratna and did not even give his work a chance to be presented to the country. That is why I say that out of all the Prime Ministers that the Congress Party has given from Nehru till now, no one would have thought that Baba Saheb should get the Bharat Ratna. He said that Baba Saheb had said many times that apart from legal knowledge, he had studied and gained knowledge on many other issues including economics, social sector and commerce. He can contribute to the country. But, Nehru did not give him any place anywhere.
After this Baba Saheb resigned from the post of Law Minister and even after that Nehru and Congress people took every possible step to defeat him. Wherever Baba Saheb went to contest elections, Congress used its full strength to defeat him, due to which Baba Saheb was very sad. Kiren Rijiju said that Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar was honored with Bharat Ratna by the government formed with the support of BJP in 1990. Congress hated him and wanted to erase his name. Later, when Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister, Constitution Yatra was taken out in Gujarat and then when he became the Prime Minister, he came here to Delhi and after becoming the Prime Minister, Modi celebrated 26 November as Constitution Day.
