But the Congress got limited to around 40 per cent of the votes, the reason being that it could not get any vote other than Jats and Muslims in the entire state.
On the other hand, the social equation of BJP became very big. The move he made before the elections to make the Chief Minister from a backward caste also succeeded. Keep in mind that the backward caste population in the state is around 36 percent. In Haryana, perhaps for the first time, a leader from a backward caste became the Chief Minister, so the backward castes united and voted for the BJP. In the midst of the elections, when senior BJP leader Anil Vij had staked claim for the post of Chief Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself went to Haryana and made it clear that BJP is contesting the elections on the face of Nayab Singh Saini and if BJP wins, Saini will be the Chief Minister.
