Surendranagar. In Dedadara village of Surendranagar, the health of more than 30 people deteriorated after eating Prasad. Everyone was admitted to the hospital for treatment. All of them had participated in a community program. According to family members, upon reaching home, those who received the Prasad complained of stomach ache, vomiting and diarrhea. On receiving the information, health workers took immediate action. The sick were admitted to the district hospitals of Dedadara, Kotharia, Wadhwan and Surendranagar. The Health Department has taken samples of Prasad.
Action will be taken after the investigation report comes. However, the relatives of the victims looked quite angry due to the delay in timely treatment at the Civil Hospital. A source said that there was also Navratri celebration and puja before the event. More than 60 people had gathered at the event held on October 10. Everyone was engrossed in celebration but after some time he started complaining of stomach ache. Some had to be taken to the hospital in the night itself. All of them had eaten the Prasad. Now the search is on for those who had made the Prasad. This incident has raised concerns about food safety at such functions. Officials have also become alert.
