Modi's crown stolen from Bangladesh Kali temple

Dhaka. The crown of Maa Kali has been stolen from Jeshoreshwari temple in Bangladesh. It is a silver crown plated with gold. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jeshoreshwari temple during his visit to Bangladesh in 2021. During this time he had offered this crown in the temple. This visit of Modi was the first visit to any country after the Corona epidemic. CCTV footage of the incident of theft of this crown from Kali temple came to light on Friday.

India has expressed objection to the incident of theft. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has demanded action from the government. However, in the CCTV video of the theft of the crown from the temple, a boy wearing jeans and T-shirt is seen entering the temple. After picking up the crown, he hides it inside his T-shirt and then after the theft, he casually leaves the temple. The theft took place on Thursday between 2 and 2.30 pm. When the temple servant saw the crown missing from the goddess’s head, she informed the Shyamnagar police. The police is trying to identify the thief from the CCTV footage.
