Kharge's son returned government land

Bengaluru. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s son has returned the government land given to his trust amid the entanglement of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his wife and several relatives in the alleged scam related to the land of Mysuru Urban Development Authority i.e. Muda and the ED investigation has started. Kharge’s son Rahul M Kharge has decided to return five acres of land to the Karnataka government, which was given to the Kharge family’s Siddharth Vihar Trust.

This five-acre land was given to Rahul Kharge by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board in the hardware sector at the High Tech Defense and Aerospace Park in Bagalur. He had planned to setup a Multi Skill Development Center here. It is noteworthy that earlier on September 30, Parvati BM, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, had talked about returning 14 plots to Muda. On this, Siddaramaiah had said that being hurt by the political conspiracy going on against him, his wife has decided to return the plot. In fact, after the Lokayukta police registered a case and started investigation, the ED had registered an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law and others on September 30.

However, Kharge’s son and Siddharth Vihar Trust chairman Rahul Kharge had on September 20 written a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of the Karnataka Industrial Development Board, withdrawing the request to set up a multi-skill development center at the civic amenity site. Mallikarjun Kharge’s younger son and state government minister Priyank Kharge shared this letter on social media platform X. In this letter, Rahul said that the objective of Siddharth Vihar Trust was to create employment opportunities for students and youth in the field of new technology through skill development.
