According to the Panchang, the full moon date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month will start at 08.41 pm on Wednesday, 16 October. It will end the next day on Thursday, October 17 at 04.53 pm. In such a situation, the festival of Sharad Purnima will be celebrated on 16th October only. On this day, moonrise will happen at 05.04 minutes in the evening. Chandradev can be worshiped during Pradosh period. On this day the moon is full of its 16 phases. According to belief, Goddess Lakshmi visits the earth on the day of Sharad Purnima and showers blessings on her devotees. The festival of Sharad Purnima is especially celebrated in Bihar, Bengal and Jharkhand.

Importance of Kheer on Sharad Purnima…

Moonlight on the night of Sharad Purnima is considered very important. On this day the moon shines with its 16 phases. It is said that on the night of Sharad Purnima, there are some elements present in the moonlight which purify the body and mind and give positive energy. Along with this, it is also believed that on the day of Sharad Purnima, the rays of the moon are nectar-filled. For this reason, on the day of Sharad Purnima, kheer is prepared and kept in the moonlight. And that kheer becomes like nectar.

It is believed that due to the rays of the moon, kheer gets medicinal properties like nectar. On this day, rice kheer is prepared, kept in a vessel, covered with a net cloth and kept in moonlight. Next morning, during Brahma Muhurta, Kheer is offered to Sri Hari and eaten.

Pay special attention to these things

Do not eat any kind of Tamasic food on the day of Sharad Purnima. Consumption of garlic and onion is also considered prohibited on this day. It would be better if you fast. If your body remains pure and empty, you will be able to obtain nectar in a better way. Do not use black color on this day. And don’t wear black clothes. It would be better if you wear bright white clothes. Worshiping on this day calms the mind. Sharad Purnima is a good opportunity for spiritual growth. On the day of Sharad Purnima, clean the house and light a lamp. This increases happiness and prosperity in the house and provides relief from problems in life.
