Suspense of ban on firecrackers in Delhi

The Delhi government had announced a ban on firecrackers in Delhi on September 9. Delhi Government Minister Gopal Rai had said that there will be a ban on firecrackers in Delhi till January 1, 2025. That means firecrackers will not be able to be bought, sold or used. But its notification was not issued till Vijayadashami. That is, the ban was announced but the rules for its implementation were not notified, as a result of which the sale of firecrackers continued. Not only this, during Vijayadashami, effigies of Ravana were burnt all over Delhi and there were huge fireworks in them.

The question is whether the Delhi government deliberately did not notify the rules so that firecrackers could be used in the effigies burnt on Vijayadashami? Informed sources say that the Delhi government and the Aam Aadmi Party were worried that by banning firecrackers, a campaign would start on social media to brand AAP as an anti-Hindu party. Then there was the wait for Vijayadashami to pass. Now it is possible that its notification may be issued. It is also being said that pollution in Delhi had not increased much till Vijayadashami, so it was allowed to continue and now a notification to impose restrictions will be issued.
