Riot broke out in Bahraich, shops burnt

Bahraich. The situation went out of control in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. An angry mob of thousands of people set fire to a hospital and burnt many showrooms and shops. Seeing the crowd, the police also had to retreat. Later, police force and PAC were called from six nearby districts. Seeing the riots increasing, internet has been shut down in the affected area. Actually, during the immersion of Durga idol in a Haredi area on Sunday, there was a fight between two parties over playing DJ and violence broke out.

More than 20 rounds of firing took place on Sunday along with stone pelting and arson. During this time, 22 year old Ram Gopal Mishra died due to bullet injury. Police have registered a case against Abdul Hameed, Rinku, Faheem, Raja alias Sahir Khan, Nankau, Maroof Ali and four unknown people in this case. However, on Monday, the government sent PAC from six districts to Bahraich to handle the situation. A large number of police have been deployed on every road and intersection and the entire area has become a cantonment.

Meanwhile, when Ram Gopal Mishra’s body reached home after postmortem on Monday, a crowd of thousands gathered. People traveled for about five kilometers carrying the dead body. After much persuasion by the police, the family members took the body home and the last rites were performed late in the evening. During this time a large number of police were present. The condition of Satyawan Mishra, the second youth injured in the violence, is critical. He has been referred from Bahraich to Lucknow. Satyavan had arrived to save Ram Gopal Mishra who was killed in the violence.

Regarding this incident, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav said – First of all, my appeal regarding Bahraich is that all the parties involved in it should work towards maintaining law and order, the incident that happened is sad. On the other hand, BJP state president Bhupendra Chaudhary said – such incidents are unfortunate. Our government is alert. The search for the accused is going on.
