Siwan. Poisonous liquor in Siwan district of Bihar (Poisonous Liquor) 20 people died due to drinking. Civil surgeon of Siwan Sadar Hospital said that till now 20 people have lost their lives due to drinking poisonous liquor. Apart from this, people who consumed poisonous liquor are still reaching the hospital for treatment. Chhapra SP said that 4 people have died due to this incident in Chhapra also. Police have arrested three people in this case. The arrested accused are being interrogated. Siwan District Magistrate Mukul Kumar Gupta had said on Wednesday that on Tuesday evening, people with symptoms like vomiting, headache and stomach ache in Kaudiya Vaisi Tola village were taken to the Primary Health Center located in Bhagwanpur for treatment. When their condition worsened further, they were taken to Sadar Hospital in Siwan, from where some were referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for better treatment. Villagers claim that the death toll is higher than the number confirmed by the district administration.
He also claimed that the victims had consumed poisonous liquor on Tuesday evening and started showing symptoms around 9 pm. On one hand, the families of the victims are claiming that all these deaths occurred due to drinking poisonous liquor. Meanwhile, District Magistrate Gupta said on Wednesday that the exact cause of death will be known only after post-mortem. Chhapra (headquarters) ASP Rakesh Kumar had said on Wednesday that we have received information about three people who drank alcohol on Tuesday. They were admitted to Sadar Hospital Chapra and one of them died during treatment. We are investigating the incident. Both the incidents that took place in Siwan and Saran are currently under investigation. Officials are trying to find out the exact cause of the deaths. Medical examination and post mortem report are awaited to clarify whether poisonous liquor is directly responsible for the incident or not.
