New Delhi. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday expressed grief over the death of many people due to drinking poisonous liquor in Bihar’s Siwan and Saran. Attacking the Nitish government, he said that liquor ban is in force in Bihar, but illegal trade of poisonous liquor is going on in full swing, due to which deaths occur every day. The government should control this. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi wrote on social media platform X, “The news of large number of deaths due to poisonous liquor in Siwan and Saran districts of Bihar is extremely sad. May God give peace to the departed souls at his feet. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. A large number of people are hospitalized, I pray for their speedy recovery. He further attacked the state government and wrote that liquor ban is in force in Bihar but illegal trade of poisonous liquor is going on indiscriminately, due to which deaths occur every day. The government should control this. According to reports, more than 20 people have died due to drinking poisonous liquor in Siwan and Saran districts of Bihar, while the condition of many people is said to be critical and have been admitted to the hospital.

At the same time, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, while talking to the media on the poisonous liquor scandal in Bihar, said, “We can say that the liquor ban is only on paper. More than 30 people have died due to poisonous liquor, many have lost their eyesight. Such a big incident has happened and the Chief Minister has not expressed any condolences yet. These incidents are happening continuously. Liquor is available everywhere in Bihar. People in power, mafia and officials are doing all this. He further said that such incidents are happening continuously in Bihar, liquor is becoming available. This power protection crime is being committed. People are not dead, they have been murdered. The way no action has been taken against any official or senior official till now. In this, those people who are in power should answer. After all, what kind of liquor ban is going on? The poor are being killed, the poor are being prosecuted. But, from where the liquor is supplied. Those people are not even touched.
