New Delhi. New technology has transformed the defense sector. The form of conventional warfare that we see around us today is far different from the form it was 50-60 years ago. Due to technology, the weapons and equipment which were used on land, in the air or in the sea are seeing a big change today. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said these things on Friday. He was speaking at a DRDO workshop on defense technology held in Delhi. He said that the impact of technology in the defense sector was not limited to conventional warfare only. Technology has given rise to a new non-conventional warfare in the defense sector. Many elements like drones, cyber warfare, biological weapons and space defense have emerged as a challenge for the defense sector. Along with this, while addressing the researchers, the Defense Minister said that in a transformative era, the way you are taking your steps forward in the field of defense and research and development, it will definitely make our defense sector even stronger. The Defense Minister said that no single organization or institution is doing this work alone, rather startups, scientists of the country, industrialists, education sector and young entrepreneurs are all doing this work together.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh says, “I feel that the time has come when private sector participation should take the lead in the defense sector, I am not talking about participation but the private sector should now take the lead. Rajnath Singh said that the Government of India and the Defense Ministry are fully committed to making the country’s defense sector more modern and technology oriented. He said that the way we are moving forward in the field of defense research and development, it will strengthen and strengthen our defense sector.
