Mumbai After the announcement of assembly elections in Maharashtra, seat sharing between Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP is stuck. In this too, more differences have emerged between Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Congress. Uddhav’s party has given an open statement against Congress state president Nana Patole. Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has targeted Patole and it is being said that the party has asked the Congress high command to exclude Nana Patole from the seat sharing talks.
According to informed sources, Uddhav Thackeray’s party has said that it will not discuss seat sharing with Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole. However, sources in the Maha Vikas Aghadi, or MVA, an alliance of opposition parties, had said that an agreement has been reached regarding candidature on 260 out of 288 assembly seats in the state. But on the very next day, the dissatisfaction of Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray faction has come to the fore.
Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray faction leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said on Friday that the allies have so far agreed on only two hundred seats. Without naming Nana Patole, he took a jibe at him and said that Maharashtra Congress leaders are not capable of taking decisions. While talking to the media in Mumbai, Sanjay Raut said- A consensus has been reached among the parties involved in MVA on 200 out of the total 288 seats of Maharashtra Assembly. Raut said that he spoke to Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik and party in-charge for Maharashtra Ramesh Chennithala on Friday morning regarding seat sharing. Raut said that he will also talk to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Sanjay Raut said- the decision should be taken soon. There is very little time left. Maharashtra Congress leaders are not capable of taking decisions. They have to send the list to Delhi again and again and then discussions take place. A decision will have to be taken as soon as possible. Earlier on Thursday evening, Nana Patole had said that all the parties have claims on 20 to 25 assembly seats. It is being said that Uddhav’s party wants to contest more seats in Vidarbha, for which Patole is not ready. They come from the same area.
