Vadodara. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez inaugurated the aircraft assembly factories of Tata and Airbus on Monday, October 28. C-295 aircraft will be manufactured in this. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi and Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez conducted a road show of about three and a quarter kilometers from Vadodara Airport to Tata’s plant. It is noteworthy that after 18 years a Prime Minister of Spain has visited India.
After the road show, both the leaders inaugurated the assembly units of Tata and Airbus for the manufacturing of C-295 military aircraft. A total of 56 aircraft are to be delivered to India under the C-295 programme, out of which 16 aircraft are being delivered directly by Airbus from Spain. The remaining 40 are to be built in India. Tata Advanced Systems Limited will manufacture these 40 aircraft in India, while Spain will help in manufacturing, training and logistics.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said- We have decided to walk on a new path, set new goals. Its result is in front of everyone. To convert possibility into prosperity, it is important to have the right plan and the right partnership. 1500 businessmen from the country were invited to this program. After the inauguration, both the Prime Ministers reached Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, where Modi met the delegation from Spain. During this period many trade related MoUs were signed.
In the meeting between the two countries, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that the fight against the climate crisis, poverty and inequality requires the efforts and political will of all international leaders. India’s influence and leadership is essential to deal with these issues. Sanchez further said- India plays a leading role not only in the Indo-Pacific, but also in the broader geopolitical context.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this is the first visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to India. He said- We all felt your absence at the G20 summit in New Delhi. It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to welcome you to India on the occasion of Diwali. I welcome you to Vadodara, which made me a Member of Parliament for the first time. Later I became Prime Minister.
