Congress took revenge of UP in Maharashtra

Congress Party took revenge of Uttar Pradesh from Samajwadi Party in Maharashtra. Assembly by-elections are being held on nine seats in Uttar Pradesh, out of which SP had left two seats for Congress. One seat was from Ghaziabad and the other was Khair seat from Aligarh. Congress knew that both these were loseable seats. So, he refused to contest the elections. Meanwhile, SP national president Akhilesh Yadav announced the names of five candidates in Maharashtra and demanded seven more seats. That means a total of 12 seats were demanded. But on the lines of UP, Congress decided to leave two seats for SP.

Congress has left Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar seat in Mumbai city for SP, from where its senior leader Abu Asim Azmi contests. This time this seat is going to be difficult for Azmi because this time Nawab Malik has come to contest elections on this seat. This seat is in the account of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena but apart from his candidate, Ajit Pawar has given ticket to his party’s Muslim face Nawab Malik. Despite opposition from BJP, NCP gave ticket to Malik. Congress has left the second seat of Bhiwandi East for SP. Keep in mind that Azmi from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar and Raees Shaikh from Bhiwandi East are winning on SP ticket, hence Congress has left both these seats. But SP has fielded candidates on seven more seats. It will be known what the situation is after the withdrawal of nominations on November 4.
