Nagpur. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has criticized the slogan of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Responding to Yogi Adityanath’s slogan ‘Batenge to Katenge’, he said that many Congress leaders have given their lives to unite the country. Kharge said that people who want the country to remain united would never make such divisive remarks.
Kharge asked the BJP to decide between Yogi’s slogan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unity message ‘If we stay together, we will be safe’. At a press conference in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, Kharge also hit back at the BJP for criticizing Rahul Gandhi over a copy of the Constitution with a red cover. He showed a picture of PM Modi presenting one such copy to former President Ramnath Kovind.
The Congress President accused BJP and RSS of instigating people to get votes. Citing a newspaper article, he said that he had read that the RSS has supported the slogan ‘Batenge to Katenge’ being raised by the UP CM. He said- First you decide among yourselves whose slogan you want to follow, Yogi ji’s or Modi ji’s. He further said – BJP leaders give inflammatory speeches and tell lies and divert people’s attention from the main issues.
