Mumbai Ahead of the festivals, there are stampede situations at railway stations across the country. A major stampede broke out at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus on Sunday morning, in which 10 people were injured. To prevent crowding at stations, Railways has stopped the sale of platform tickets at many places so that only passengers go to the stations. Despite this, the crowd of passengers is increasing so much that it is becoming difficult to handle them.
Of the 10 injured passengers at Bandra Terminus, five are undergoing treatment and three have been discharged. According to Dr. Sushil, Chief Medical Officer, CMO, Bhabha Hospital, two passengers were seriously injured, who have been sent to KEM Hospital. The accident happened on platform number one at around 6 am. Officials said that Gorakhpur-Bandra Express had arrived on the platform and there was a stampede among the passengers to board it. All the injured have been identified.
On the stampede at Bandra Terminus, Shiv Sena leader of Uddhav Thackeray faction Aditya Thackeray wrote on social media platform X – I wish the Rail Minister was a Railway Minister. The Bandra incident shows how incompetent the current Railway Minister is. He has written- BJP has made Ashwini Vaishnav in-charge of Maharashtra for the elections, but every week some accident or the other keeps happening with the Railways. It is such a shame that our country is in the hands of such incompetent ministers.
