New Delhi. 10 thousand bus marshals will get employment again in Delhi. The state government has approved the deployment of these civil defense volunteers and bus marshals in the war against pollution. Chief Minister Atishi Marlena said on Saturday that he would be on-duty within a week. Atishi told a press conference here that the Delhi government has approved the appointment of these 10 thousand marshals. They will play an important role in the war against pollution for the next four months. CM Atishi said that, from monitoring of pollution hotspots to controlling open burning and follow-up of complaints, participation of bus marshals will be important. The Chief Minister said, “The process of appointment of bus marshals will start from Monday. Also, Delhi government will soon send the proposal for permanent appointment of bus marshals to the Lieutenant Governor. Targeting the central government, he said that no matter how much conspiracies the BJP creates, under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal, we will definitely find a solution to every problem of the people of Delhi. CM Atishi said that, to provide security to women in buses in Delhi, Delhi government deployed bus marshals in Delhi buses in the financial year 2017-18.
These marshals were deployed so that there is no molestation or misbehavior with women and children and elderly people remain safe in DTC buses. He said that the people of Delhi saw many proofs of the security provided to women, elderly and children by the appointment of these marshals in buses. Marshals stopped misbehavior with women in the bus, stopped attempts to kidnap a child, helped the elderly. Atishi alleged but BJP did not care about the safety of women, elderly and children. 10 thousand youth from poor families did not like getting work as marshals. Therefore, BJP conspired and through its officials stopped the salaries of these bus marshals from April 2023. Atishi said, “Then the ministers of the Delhi government and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal repeatedly ordered the officers that the bus marshals should get their salaries. But the BJP did not allow them to receive their salaries and in October 2023, the BJP, through its officers, fired these 10,000 bus marshals and civil defense volunteers. He said, “On one hand this made women unsafe in buses and on the other hand youth of more than 10 thousand families became unemployed.
Arvind Kejriwal ji repeatedly said that these bus marshals should be kept back. He vowed that no matter how much struggle he has to do, he will get these bus marshals back employed. Atishi said, “For the last one year, these bus marshals and civil defense volunteers have been fighting on the streets. Delhi Government, Delhi Government Ministers and Aam Aadmi Party MLAs fully supported him. Be it fighting on the streets, facing police lathicharge or getting arrested, AAP MLAs and Delhi government ministers fought shoulder to shoulder with the bus marshals. He said that ultimately the BJP had to bow down to this struggle and simply agree to re-appointment of marshals. Giving good news for bus marshals, Atishi said, “In the coming few days, the proposal for permanent appointment of bus marshals will be sent by the Delhi government to the Lieutenant Governor. But unless there is permanent appointment of bus marshals, they will be deployed in the war against pollution till the month of February.
