Yangon. 113 people have died and 64 are missing due to widespread floods in Myanmar. The information team of the State Administration Council of Myanmar has given this information. The floods have affected Mon and Shan states and Ayeyarwady region including Nay-Pi-Ta, Kay State, Kayin State, Bago, Magway, Mandalay areas. The report said that as of the evening of September 14, more than 72,900 houses and more than 78,000 families have been affected, forcing more than 320,000 people to take shelter in temporary shelters across the country.

The information team said that the government is carrying out rehabilitation and rescue operations in the affected areas. Along with this, efforts are also on to provide all possible assistance to the flood victims. Quoting the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Army) True News Information Team, as of Friday, 33 people have died and more than 230,000 people have been displaced in the floods following the storm. The report said that a total of 34 towns across the country, including Nay-Pi-Ta, have been affected by the floods. 236,649 people from 59,413 families have been displaced by the disaster. A total of 187 flood shelters have been built for the victims.
