14 people died in Serbia railway station accident

belgrade. 14 people have lost their lives in an accident at the railway station located in Novi Sad city of Serbia. After this incident, the Government of Serbia has now declared November 2 as a national mourning day. The High Public Prosecutor’s Office of Novi Sad said that several people were buried after the roof of the railway station collapsed. So far 14 bodies have been recovered from the debris. Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic appealed for unity and responsibility on Friday evening.

He expressed gratitude towards the rescue workers and workers. He said that we all have to unite, help the affected families and use our full capacity to minimize the damage. Earlier, Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said the accident was one of the darkest days in the city’s history and a tragedy for all of Serbia. Vucevic expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He also thanked all the people involved in the rescue efforts.

He said that the structure is 60 years old, but the authorities will identify those responsible for the incident. Let us tell you that the roof of the concrete platform in front of the railway station had collapsed on Friday. Rescue operation was started after this accident. About three people were rescued and taken to hospital for treatment. Eight people were initially reported dead during the incident. However, bodies of many more people were also recovered during the rescue operation. Serbia’s Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said the incident would be investigated after the rescue operation.
