Ayodhya. This year, on the occasion of Deepotsav, a new record of lighting 28 lakh lamps on the banks of Saryu in Ayodhya was made. After the inauguration of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, a more grand program was organized on the occasion of the first Diwali. 28 lakh lamps were lit at 55 ghats of Saryu river. Last year 22 lakh lamps were lit. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Deepotsav by lighting the first lamp in the Ram temple. 16 hundred Archakas performed Saryu Aarti.
Before this, tableaux based on Ramayana were displayed. According to the story described in Ramtacharitmanas, Lord Ram arrived in Pushpak Viman along with Sita and Lakshman. The Chief Minister welcomed him and pulled his chariot. After this, Ramkatha Park Yogi performed the Aarti of Ram and performed Raj Tilak.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said – These lamps that will be lit by you are not just lamps, they are the belief of Sanatan Dharma. The people of Ayodhya will have to come forward. Mathura and Kashi should look like Ayodhya. Sanatan Dharma never harmed anyone, it embraced everyone. Whoever creates a barrier in the path of humanity will face the same fate as the mafia of UP. Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had also arrived to participate in this program.
