Akhilesh's bet before by-elections

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav met Tanzeem Fatima, wife of his party’s veteran Muslim leader Azam Khan. Rampur MP Mohibbullah was also with him. Big political significance is being drawn from this meeting before the by-elections for nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh to be held on November 20. After meeting Azam Khan’s wife, Akhilesh Yadav attacked the BJP government at the Center and the state and said that the government is trying to trap Azam Khan. It is noteworthy that Azam Khan is embroiled in many cases and is in jail for a long time. His assembly membership has also been lost.

It is noteworthy that in the by-elections, Akhilesh Yadav has fielded Muslim candidates on four out of nine seats and when the campaign started, he also symbolically included the name of jailed Azam Khan in the list of star campaigners of the party. In this way he gave a message to Muslim voters. Nevertheless, just before the elections, the need to go to Rampur and meet Azam Khan’s family arose because Azad Samaj Party leader Chandrashekhar went to jail and met Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam. After this meeting, he announced to fight for Azam Khan’s family from the streets to the Parliament. Because of this politics of Chandrashekhar, Akhilesh had to go to Rampur. Although it is believed that this time Muslim votes are completely with SP, still Akhilesh does not want to give any chance.
