Anupam Kher remembers 40 years of cinematic journey

Mumbai. Veteran film actor Anupam Kher is excited about the release of his upcoming film ‘Vijay 69’. Meanwhile, the actor recalled his 40 years of cinematic journey. Not only this, he also appealed to the fans to dream. Anupam Kher on Monday took to Instagram to write a long note on his four-decade journey in cinema. In which initial trials were also mentioned. Recalling the difficult times he faced during the beginning of his career, he wrote, ‘1984 was a make or break year for me. Every day was frustrating and those times tested my patience. Kher further wrote, ‘I was desperate to make a name for myself by getting work on my own terms. There was no connection in the industry. All I had was my willpower and the stubborn confidence to never give up on my dreams.

According to the actor, he did not have the typical hero look but wanted people to see his passionate character on screen. Before entering the world of cinema, Anupam had done a four-year acting course and was a gold medalist from drama school. He further said that I was desperate to get an opportunity to tell the world who I am and what I can do on screen. People thought I was arrogant. But I knew that the anger inside me was silently waiting to tell everyone that they were wrong, they were wrong and I thank Mahesh Bhatt for that. Bhatt gave me ‘Saaransh’ and believed in me when no one else did. He assigned me the role of a 65-year-old man who was grief-stricken over the death of his young son. Now in 2024, he is going to play the role of a 69 year old man. This has been revealed in this post itself.

He told that now he will be seen playing the role of Vijay Mathew, a 69-year-old man who is short-tempered and wants to become a triathlon athlete, in his upcoming film ‘Vijay 69’ produced by YRF. Kher further said that in my 40 years of cinematic journey, I have never stopped experimenting and challenging myself. My childhood, my roots, my early years in this film industry played a huge role in it. I cannot deny that I have been a small town boy. Coming from a lower-middle-class family, I have gone through challenging experiences which I cherish deeply. He said that even today I remember the emotions that I felt as a child. Anupam told that his clerk father is an inspiration for him. He was a common man with dreams in his eyes. The actor wrote, I can never forget his eyes. She talked a lot even when he didn’t speak a word.

That’s why whenever I play the character of a common man, I play his character on screen. I always present him and the common man on screen. I never thought of quitting acting, even when things were bad, never thought of it, never will. I’m not going to give up! Never. He further said that I have learned from my failures. Failure teaches you more than success. When I got paralyzed on my face during the shooting of ‘Hum Aap Ke Hain Koun’, people thought that my career was over. I overcame it and moved forward. I was a Hindi medium boy. I did films with successful Hollywood actors like Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Keira Knightley. I request everyone to dream. Dreamers achieve what others cannot. They see something that others can never imagine. They live a life which is imaginary. So as Vijay Mathew says, ‘Dreams have no expiry date. ‘Vijay 69’ is scheduled to release on Netflix on November 8.
