New Delhi. Delhi government has approved the proposal to appoint 10 thousand Civil Defense Volunteers (CDVs) for the next four months. Chief Minister Atishi said on Saturday, October 9 that about 10 thousand civil defense volunteers will return to work for four months from next week. He was removed from the post of bus marshal last year. They will be deployed to enforce measures to prevent pollution.
Atishi said that the Delhi government has approved one of its proposals. He said that call out notices will be issued to CDVs from Monday and then they can start registration at the concerned District Magistrate office on Tuesday and Wednesday. He said in the press conference that within two-three days of registration, the CDVs will be deployed for tasks like managing pollution hotspots, preventing dust pollution and garbage burning.
Accusing the BJP, the Chief Minister said- CDV was deployed as bus marshal by the then Kejriwal government in 2018 to ensure the safety of women, but the BJP removed him in October 2023 as part of a conspiracy. Atishi said- I assure the bus marshals that in the coming few days we will send the proposal for permanent appointment of bus marshals to the Lieutenant Governor. Till the month of February, until they get permanent appointment, bus marshals are being added to the campaign against pollution.
