Patna/New Delhi. An Air Force helicopter deployed in flood relief in Bihar crashed on Wednesday due to engine failure. After the helicopter’s engine failed, the pilot made an emergency landing of the helicopter in water in Aurai in Muzaffarpur district. The helicopter was carrying flood relief material from Sitamarhi. There were two pilots and two soldiers in it. All four people are safe. He has suffered minor injuries. The Air Force has ordered an investigation into the matter.

It is noteworthy that due to heavy rains, Nepal has released a huge amount of water, due to which many rivers of Bihar are in spate. About 15 lakh population of 16 districts is affected by the floods. The situation is very bad in Purnia, Saharsa, Supaul, Darbhanga. Many villages have been submerged in the waters of Kosi, Kamala Balan and Bagmati rivers and thousands of people have been evacuated to safe places. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an aerial survey of flood affected areas a day earlier on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has officially announced the farewell of monsoon season. There is no rain alert in any state except the southern and northeastern states. The rainy season is over in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature has reached above 36 degrees in many districts of Rajasthan. Even in the capital Delhi, the temperature reached above 35 degrees. Temperatures of more than 36 degrees were recorded in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh and Khajuraho of Madhya Pradesh.
