Arvind Kejriwal also got a blow from SC in PM Modi's degree case.

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has received a big blow from the Supreme Court in the degree case of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Supreme Court has rejected his demand to stay this defamation case, due to which the criminal defamation case against Kejriwal will continue in Gujarat. Former CM Arvind Kejriwal had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to stay the case, challenging the summons issued by the lower court. Earlier, Gujarat High Court had also rejected his demand. Earlier, in April 2024, the Supreme Court had also rejected a similar demand of AAP leader Sanjay Singh and now Kejriwal’s petition has also been rejected. Let us tell you that Gujarat University Registrar Piyush Patel has filed a defamation case against the comments of Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh.

Arvind Kejriwal had demanded that the defamation case against him be stayed. The bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice SVN Bhatti clarified that another bench of the Supreme Court had rejected Sanjay Singh’s petition in the same case on April 8. The bench said that we have to adopt a similar approach. Earlier, the Gujarat High Court had refused to consider the petition of Sanjay Singh and Arvind Kejriwal in February. In the petition, he had appealed to cancel the summons issued against him in the case. Singh and Kejriwal had filed a petition in the High Court challenging the order dismissing their revision petitions against the summons filed by the trial court and the subsequent summons issued by the Sessions Court in the case filed by Gujarat University.
