SrinagarFormer Chief Minister of the state Farooq Abdullah has claimed that the terrorist attack on an army vehicle in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir was the handiwork of Pakistan. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah said on Friday that Pakistan should stop violence and find a way for friendship with India. He said that instead of spreading unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan should focus on its own plight and work for its betterment.
Furious at Pakistan over this, Farooq Abdullah said – I have been watching this for the last 30 years, innocent people are being killed in Jammu and Kashmir. Attacks like Gulmarg will continue to happen until India and Pakistan find the path to friendship. Regarding terrorist attacks, he said- You know where they come from. This will not stop until a way out of this problem is found.
It is noteworthy that late on Thursday evening, terrorists had attacked the vehicle of 18 Rashtriya Rifles. In this, two soldiers were martyred and two porters were also killed. Abdullah paid tribute to the martyred soldiers and deceased porters of the Gulmarg attack and said that he apologizes to their families. On the question of Pakistan being disappointed due to record voting in assembly elections and formation of new government, Abdullah said- I don’t know what happened. People voted in the assembly elections and now the assembly will work for the people. We hope the Center will grant full statehood so that the government can work for the people.
