Shimla. Himachal Pradesh Politics The mosque committee has taken a big initiative to resolve the dispute of Sanjauli Mosque in Shimla. The mosque committee offered to demolish the illegal construction of the mosque on Thursday, 12 September. For this, they met Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bhupendra Atri. The commissioner said that the mosque committee itself said that if there is a court order, they will demolish the illegal part of the mosque. Also, the committee is ready for the three floors of the mosque to be sealed until the court’s decision comes.
It is worth mentioning that protests have been going on for the last 13 days against the illegal construction of Sanjauli Mosque. The Vyapar Mandal kept all the shops of the city closed on Thursday in protest against the lathi charge that took place recently. During this, the traders of Shimla took out a rally from Sher-e-Punjab to the Collector’s office and demanded the dismissal of the SP. On the other hand, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has called for a bandh on September 14. It has appealed to all the traders to keep the shops closed for two hours. The protesters say that the mosque should be sealed until the court’s decision comes. If this is not done, the movement will be made violent.
